Kaine Statement On Roanoke Amtrak Announcement

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tim Kaine released the following statement on Governor Terry McAuliffe’s announcement that construction on Amtrak service to Roanoke will begin immediately:

“I’m pleased to see we are another step closer to passenger rail service in Roanoke. As Governor, I was proud of our work to extend Amtrak service to Lynchburg, and I can’t wait to ride it to Roanoke in just over two years. I’m grateful for the efforts of Governor McAuliffe, Senator John Edwards, former Delegate Shannon Valentine and many others who worked tirelessly on this project that will have a major, positive impact on the daily lives of commuters, tourism and the regional economy.”
