Kaine Statement On Retirement Of Congressman Jim Moran

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tim Kaine released the following statement on Congressman Jim Moran’s announcement that he will retire after 23 years in Congress:

"For nearly four decades, Jim Moran has devoted his career to serving the people of Northern Virginia. From his early days on Alexandria City Council to his leadership on the House Appropriations Committee, Jim has never stopped fighting for Virginia's 8th District and I will greatly miss his upbeat presence on Capitol Hill. His innumerable accomplishments include significant contributions to support the region's federal workforce, transportation infrastructure, as well as the defense and intelligence communities. A passionate and progressive advocate for so many important local, national and international issues, I have no doubt Jim will continue to serve in meaningful ways for many years to come."
