Kaine Statement on Meeting with Secretary of State Nominee John Kerry

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, who will serve on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, released the following statement after meeting with President Obama’s nominee to be Secretary of State, Senator John Kerry.

“I had a good discussion with Senator Kerry today. There are few better equipped to serve as the nation's top diplomat and leader on U.S foreign policy than John Kerry.  As a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, I look forward to participating in the next phase of the confirmation process and the chance to talk more about vigorous American diplomacy, particularly my interest in the Western Hemisphere.”
