WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near Eastern and South and Central Asian Affairs and a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement on today’s terrorist attack in Peshawar.
“I extend my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims of today’s heinous terrorist attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar, Pakistan. I am shocked and appalled by this senseless act of violence against students and teachers and join the international community in strongly condemning the perpetrators. The barbarity and desperation of these terrorists is no match for the courage and resilience of the people of Pakistan. The United States remains committed to supporting Pakistan in its efforts to root out terrorism and extremism in the region.”
