WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, a member of the Armed Services Committee, toured Naval Support Facility (NSF) Dahlgren where he visited the Aegis Training and Readiness Center and Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). Throughout the tour, Kaine spoke with employees about his continued efforts to replace harmful sequester cuts and provide more budget certainty for the defense community.
“It's great to be back at Dahlgren,” said Kaine. “NSF Dahlgren is an impressive facility that brings together research and development, training, and testing facilities to help strengthen our national security. It is a unique installation that pairs highly specialized skill sets with systems that are integral to developing the most technologically advanced military in the world.”
Kaine also attended the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Council Dinner where he discussed his work on the Senate Armed Services Committee to support servicemembers and their families, and address pressing national security challenges.
Kaine will continue his travel in Virginia with stops in Culpeper and Centreville today.
