Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act Requests

The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) provides authorization of appropriations for the Department of Defense (DOD) and other defense-related activities. This legislation also establishes defense policies and restrictions, and administrative matters related to the DOD. 

Senator Kaine, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, will have two deadlines for FY26 NDAA requests this year.

  • Policy requests (statutory language or report language) for the FY26 NDAA were accepted until 11:59 PM on March 16, 2025.
  • Budget requests, to include military construction, for the FY26 NDAA will be accepted until four days after the FY26 President’s Budget Request is released.
