US Senator Timothy Michael Kaine has arrived in Kyiv, the US Embassy in Ukraine has reported.

"We are pleased to welcome Senator Tim Kaine to Kyiv today," the embassy said in a telegram on Monday.

The message is accompanied by a photo of the senator's meeting at the Kyiv train station.

Timothy Michael "Tim" Kaine is a member of the US Senate from Virginia since 2013, Governor of Virginia from 2006 to 2010 and Chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 2009 to 2011.
