Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va) spoke out Wednesday about Trump and the Republican party's plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
Trump had said during his first press conference that the repeal and replace would happen simultaneously. Kaine said the probability of that happening would be highly unlikely.
"I think it's unrealistic to think you can repeal and then pass something the same day that hasn't been vetted at all, because if you do that you have no way of knowing whether the replacement meets the president-elect's other promises that it's not going to reduce coverage, it's not going to increase costs, it's not going to reduce the quality of care," Kaine said.
However, Kaine added that if a proposed plan could promise to not to reduce the quality of care and coverage or increase costs he would be willing to sit down at a table to discuss that.
Tuesday Kaine launched a website for Virginians to share their stories about how the ACA has helped them.
